Southern Style Breakfast...and more!

Whether you want to enjoy a great breakfast side, shrimp & grits, or a rustic polenta, our Wapsie Valley corn grits should be on the menu! Italian peasants developed many recipes using their rations of grits after Columbus brought corn to Italy in the 15th century, and after the the Civil War, Southerners relied on grits when little else was available to eat. Today, grits are still central to Southern cuisine, and are served all over the world.

“...throughout its history, the South has relished its grits, making them a symbol of its diet, its customs, its humor, and its hospitality,.. grits has been a part of the life of every South Carolinian of whatever race, background, gender, and income…"
-- 1909 South Carolina General Assembly

We freshly grind our Certified Organic Heirloom Grits on a stone mill to retain its superior flavor and nutrition. Corn is also a good source of vitamin C and manganese. We never use GMO varieties, as is required to be Certified Organic.

For commercial bakers and chefs, a wide range of custom grits is available upon request for your exact needs.
